Fam, bear with me as I try out new post formats as I try to discover my calling. Recently I discovered that one of my strong spiritual gifts is teaching so I am going out on a limb here and taking a leap of faith to see if this is my true calling or not… You’ll never know if you don’t try
The Narrow and Wide Gates
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
The bible is quite clear that the true pathway is the narrow pathway.
The Wide Path Representation
Many question why the Lord would say that the wide pathway would lead to destruction. Well it’s because the wide pathway is the pathway link to the worlds standards which is “I got this” attitude and people tend to leave God out of the picture and carry on taking credit that there own hard work paid it forward and when something goes wrong or not their way then it’s God’s fault…
The Narrow Path Representation
On the contrary the narrow path is the path a person takes when they become a Christian that is willing to allow the Holy Spirit to guide them this is why the verse states that a few find the narrow path and keep going down the path, for there is many reasons why a person could end up back on the wide path for such example they let their relationship with the Lord’ stall out and they go back to doing things there way instead of God’s way, but yet claim to be a Christian. Now days anyone can say their a Christian but a real Christian will display the good fruit they produce…
“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. “You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? “So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.
“A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. “So then, you will know them by their fruits.
As for going to heaven or not that is God’s place to judge the persons stance of what path they have entered and stayed the course on. Yes being a Christian never means they’re perfect, because we all will veer off the narrow path at some point, but the Lord is looking for the person that is willing to humble them self and repent and allow the Lord the opportunity to show them how to stay on the narrow path this way they can be in right standing with the Lord. Again no one is perfect God’ is looking for the obedient person vs the person that wants to complete everything on their own…
